Former Perth Scorchers star and now Rockingham-Mandurah first grade coach Craig Simmons is eager with anticipation heading into the new cricket season.
After the success of last season, where their young side made great inroads in the finals, the Mariners are looking to go further this year with their impressive young side.
Key to success this year will be the work done pre season with development coaching. This combined with a years first grade experience will for a solid foundation for the teams younger brigade.
The team will be looking for a repeat performance from their young guns Teague Wyllie and Corey Wasley, who together combined for over 1200 runs, with each averaging in the 40s for the season.
In addition to the rising young guns, Rockingham Mandurah will also be reliant on other key stakeholders such as Aaron Burrage, Adam France and Damien Burrage, in addition to coach Simmons who will once again be playing. Coach Simmons mad a very impressive contribution last season with 34 wickets.
The local boys start their campaign on October 2 with a trip to Stevens Reserve to tackle Fremantle Cricket Club.
