The Kwinana RSL sub-branch will again hold its dawn service and Anzac Day parade.
Anzac Day has become a national day of commemoration for the 60,000 Australians and 18,000 New Zealanders who died during the war. In 1916, the first anniversary of the landing in Gallipoli was observed in Australia, New Zealand and England, and troops in Egypt that year.
The Kwinana dawn service, held in conjunction with the City of Rockingham and Lotterywest, will begin at the Kwinana War Memorial on Pace Road in Medina at 6am, marking the time of the original landing in Gallipoli.
Commemorative services will continue later in the day with a march beginning at the Salvation Army Hall on Hoyle Road from 10.30am, followed by a service at 11am and a gunfire breakfast at Medina Hall.
