UPDATE: A woman has been taken to Royal Perth Hospital after flipping her car on the Kwinana Freeway.

The crash happened at the Safety Bay Road exit around 1.40pm on Saturday.

The woman was taken by ambulance to RPH with non life-threatening injuries.

The crash caused heavy delays for motorists in Baldivis, but has since been cleared.

There are heavy delays on the Kwinana Freeway after a car flipped onto its roof in Baldivis.

The black Hyundai left the freeway at the Safety Bay Road exit and rolled into the median strip around 1.40pm.

It’s believed the female driver of the Hyundai was able to escape serious injury in the crash.

It remains unclear exactly what caused the vehicle to roll.

A Main Roads WA spokesperson said the right lane was closed for southbound motorists.

Traffic is at a standstill on approach in both directions of the Kwinana Freeway, but the most significant delays are for southbound motorists.

Motorists are asked to be patient travelling through the area with police, paramedics and fire crews on the scene.
